Carpets have bad reputation

Home / Carpet Flooring / Carpets have bad reputation

Carpeting gets a bad rap. Images of a soiled green shag carpets are stuck in our mind. Sure, carpets can sometimes be harder to clean (especially if you have younger children or pets), but there are all kinds of benefits as to why carpeting may actually be the best choice for your home.

#1: Carpets come in all kinds of styles, colours and designs. There is no need to be stuck with a carpet design that you don’t love. Instead, carpets can add to, and compliment, your décor choices

#2: Carpets add an extra layer of warmth to your home. Our climate is generally colder, especially in the blistering winter months, so carpeting can act as an extra barrier to the elements. Thick carpeting is insulation and makes your home cozier.

#3: Carpets not only add insulation for cold weather, but also provide insulation to noise. They trap the noise and stop it from spreading throughout different floors for your home.

#4: Carpets aren’t the only flooring options that require maintenance. All flooring requires upkeep if you want them to last. Carpets however generally have a low cost to maintain in the long run and can be simple to clean if you keep on top of it.

#5: A home is about security and ease. A carpet can help provide both for your family. If you have children, elderly people or people who are prone to falling in your house then carpets can add an extra layer that defends from bumps, scrapes and bruises.

They aren’t for everyone. But carpets shouldn’t be excluded all together because of the bad reputation they have gained throughout the years. Modern carpets can be just as beautiful in your house as any other flooring option.
