Noticing a new scratch on hardwood is always a disappointing feeling. If you’re in a pinch there are a few quick fixes for hiding scratches that don’t require shopping. For example, the oil in walnuts will lessen the appearance of a scratch. Just rub it on the problem area, and you’ll notice a big difference. You can also colour them in with a marker or crayon that is close to the colour of the wood, or use tea and a cotton swab as a stain.
