Types of Vinyl Flooring

So you’ve decided to install vinyl flooring in your kitchen, bathroom, laundry room or entryway. But did you know there are actually three different kinds of vinyl flooring?

1) Sheet flooring

Sheet flooring is slightly more water resistant than vinyl tile, because it doesn’t have as many points of entry for water. It can mimic the look of tile, without any of the spaces in between the tiles. It also generally costs less than tile, and comes in a wide range of styles and colours.

2) Tile flooring

One of the main benefits of vinyl tile flooring is the ability to replace individual pieces if they’re damaged. This avoids the potential larger cost of having to replace your entire floor if it gets damaged. The ability to mix styles and colours give you the option to be creative and come up with a floor that’s entirely your own.

3) Luxury vinyl tile

Luxury vinyl tile is, like it sounds, a more expensive option when it comes to vinyl flooring – but the benefit of shelling out a little more money on this type of floor is the wide range of design options. While sheet vinyl and vinyl tile still looks like vinyl, luxury vinyl tile mimics hardwood, ceramic tile, marble, and many other types of flooring, with more durability and less maintenance.
