The colour of your tile can really set the tone for your space, and choosing the right colour depends on a number of factors.
1) Size of the room
If you’re working with a small room, try going for a lighter colour of tile floor like cream and pastels, as this can make the room look larger. If your room is larger, you can experiment with dark tiles like rich chocolates and navy, especially if the large room has plenty of natural light.
2) Choose your tile type
Tiles come in a wide range of materials from stain-resistant, glazed ceramic to dense porcelain and beyond.
3) Check out a colour wheel
If you need some inspiration for matching your tile floor to your wall colour, consult a colour wheel. You can make a big statement by choosing colours that are on opposite sides of the colour wheel.
4) Consider textures
Evaluate your space and figure out if it’s a high traffic area. If it is, try a tile with a pattern so scuffs are less likely to show.
