Many of us spend a lot of time in our kitchens, from cooking to eating to socializing. No matter what kind of flooring you have in your Guelph kitchen, follow these tips for keeping it clean!
• Use mats, area rugs and other protective items around your kitchen. Place a mat in front of your kitchen sink to protect your floor from splashes, and one in front of your oven to protect from spills and dropping utensils. (But be careful – some floors don’t do well with rubber-backed mats.)
• Install curtains to protect certain flooring from discolouration from the sun. You don’t have to block all the light out either – using a sheer material will do the trick.
• Make sure your furniture legs are padded. Between bar stools, dining tables and dining chairs, the furniture in your kitchen sees a lot of movement. Consider putting pads on your fridge and oven legs as well.
• Clean up spills and water as soon as they happen to prevent long-term damage like staining and warping.
When it comes to cleaning your kitchen, it’s best to stay on top of it and never let it get too out of hand!
